In our last circular issued on 12 June we gave a further update on the coroner’s pay bargaining situation. Since then, the Ministry of Justice has shared with us correspondence between the CSEW and the Lord Chancellor, David Lammy MP. With their permission we share that correspondence with you as an appendix to this circular.
On 17 December 2025, the Local Government Association (LGA) hosted a session designed to help councils to manage their assets safely and effectively through local government reorganisation. As councils await their LGR decisions, now is the time for councils to prioritise and plan their asset management.
As the calendar turns to 2026, resolutions are everywhere: eat better, move more, drink less alcohol. But beyond individual choices, public health in 2026 will feel less like a new agenda and more like a year of delivery.
Over the coming months, CHoSS will publish a suite of resources to support councils in planning, managing and delivering new council homes. These resources will be available to all councils engaging with the programme.
