Every year, apprentices who attend the Local Government Apprentice of the Year event feedback that one of the benefits of the day is the knowledge and skills they gain from networking and collaborating with other
apprentices.

There are many different reasons why apprentices decide to take part in the Local Government Apprentice of the Year event, including networking and career development. But for one of this year’s runners up, Jessica-Marie Brooman, it was all about learning new skills and testing existing ones.

The Task Group is made up of regional member representation covering all of the English regions, Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland and focuses upon the issues around the asylum, refugee and migration agenda from a local government perspective.
