This years’ social media prize winner, Jake Snell, choose to take part in the event not just because he thought that it would be a great opportunity to develop his skills but also because he wanted to promote the value of apprenticeships to others.

However, the judges are not just looking at each apprentice individually but are also assessing how well individuals are working together in order to award their ‘best overall team’.

Leo Thomas has recently completed a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Customer Service at Three River District Council. Having already worked in local government for over 3 years; Leo saw the chance to undertake the qualification as a great opportunity in helping him develop existing skills and knowledge.

Anya has recently completed a level 3 accounting apprenticeship at Plymouth City Council. As she approached the end of her apprenticeship, she decided that she would take the opportunity to be part of the Local Government Apprentice of the Year event as she saw it as a chance to find out more about other apprentices and to develop her skills.
