Our dedicated General Election hub sets out the key commitments in the Conservative, Green, Labour and Liberal Democrat national manifestos relevant to local government.
The 2024 General Election came at a pivotal time for the country, with councils facing extreme and unprecedented cost and demand pressures across all services. Through our Local Government White Paper, we have stressed that the future of our public services must be front and centre of the next government’s ambition for the country. It is councils who can provide the answers to so many of the issues any incoming government will face.
The LGA approached parliamentary candidates of all parties and independent candidates to highlight the asks and offers of the local government sector.
