Councils have a huge responsibility in supporting young people when they leave care. What can be an incredibly daunting time can be made easier by councils through a variety of ways. From providing transport for a young person to get to an interview, to making sure they’ve had help in care to learn how to do household tasks, to celebrating their wins and commiserating when things don’t go so well, being there for young people in this new part of life is vital.
As part of our campaign, we have produced a variety of assets available for you to use on your comms channels. Use them to:
- support National Care Leavers' Week
- celebrate your own work in supporting care leavers
- amplify our campaign messaging, particularly for future lobbying work
- encourage your local businesses to join the Care Leaver Covenant
- join with councils across the country
