“Councils want to work with government to protect local places from attacks.

Responding to the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Bill announced in the King's Speech, Cllr Heather Kidd, Chair of the Local Government Association’s Safer & Stronger Communities Board, said:
“Councils want to work with government to protect local places from attacks.
“We are pleased government has acted on our concerns around ensuring the bill is proportional and not unduly burdensome on local communities, and it is good there will be further consultation on balancing this with keeping people safe.”
