LGA responds to RSPCA call for more council funding

“As the RSPCA recognises, councils' ability to respond to animal welfare concerns has been impacted by cuts to their funding. Councils will always do what they can, and it is good to see 10 years of good practice highlighted.

“However, to maintain this work, and with local government facing an overall £7.8 billion funding gap by 2025, they need proper resources to ensure a consistent, long-term approach to animal welfare.”
