Children’s health and wellbeing in Croydon

The London Borough of Croydon has the largest population of children and young people in London. It focused on the 'early years' to design and implement a change programme which moved services from a dependency model to one focusing on early intervention and prevention at every level. The council achieved this by using customer insight tools and techniques to gather evidence from children, families and practitioners. The new model is consistent with the needs and culture described by families and young children in Croydon, and has removed inefficiencies and reduced administrative expenditure.
