The council achieved this by delivering initiatives such as: a policy of no direct admissions to residential care from an acute hospital bed, use of assistive technology, a value for money approach for all care packages that are above £900 per week, retendering domiciliary care contracts and moving from 20 local suppliers to six strategic partners.
