LIFE+ supports environmental and nature conservation projects, including green regeneration. The programme has three strands: Nature and Biodiversity Projects; Environment Policy and Governance; Information and Communication.

The Eco-Innovation Programme provides funding for innovative products that mitigate environmental impacts or promote a more efficient use of resources. The fund supports initial development or commercialisation to help get viable products on to the market. Priority areas include material recycling, buildings, the food and drink sector as well as green business.

Teams of cities and industry partners can apply for EU-funding in the fields of integrative management of urban energy flows that also include transport, water and waste solutions. Future calls under the initiative will address buildings, heating and cooling, networks and energy supply technologies.
