Adult safeguarding and homelessness: a briefing on positive practice
The purpose of this briefing is to assist senior leaders, such as members of Safeguarding Adults Boards (SABs), as well as commissioners, practitioners and operational managers who are working across relevant sectors and agencies in this field, to support people who are homeless and at risk of or experiencing abuse or neglect.
Making homelessness strategies happen
Local government is at the heart of the nation’s response to homelessness – we are house builders, housing enablers, and landlords, responsible guardians for people experiencing homelessness and care needs, support providers, and place-shapers; and we are democratically accountable to communities.
Re-thinking homelessness prevention
At the heart of this research was a recognition that the way we talk about homelessness prevention needs to change, recognising the vital importance of upstream cross-service prevention work in local homelessness systems, and the role of councils, their partners and central government policy in delivering this work.
