The independent commission on Freedom of Information issued a call for evidence on the aspects of the Freedom of Information Act and in particular about the uncertainty around the Cabinet veto, the deliberative space afforded to public authorities, enforcement and appeals procedures and the balance between transparency and the burden of the Act on public authorities. The LGA has issued a response to the consultation on behalf of local government.
