Future survival of the leisure sector

The LGA has written to the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), Oliver Dowden, to raise our concerns about the future survival of the leisure sector.

The LGA has written to the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), Oliver Dowden, letter below, to raise our concerns about the future survival of the leisure sector. Having been required to close to support efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19, councils and their leisure provider partners have lost the ability to generate income from these services, while facing ongoing high standing costs.
