Dear Jim
Youth and community workers - Pay 2021
Thank you for your response to our pay offer in your letter of 15 November.
The Employers’ Side has considered and noted the outcome of your pay consultation ballots and your intention to prepare to conduct ballots for industrial action.
It has considered your request to make an improved pay offer for 2021-22 but has agreed to reaffirm a final offer as follows:
- A 1.75% pay increase on all pay points and allowances as of 1 September 2021.
With regard to the additional elements of your claim, the Employers Side’s position and response remains as follows:
- That the current joint guidance on work life balance be updated and include provisions around good practice on TOIL
- Joint guidance is developed on evening session work
- Agreement on further discussions with the Staff Side, on a without prejudice basis, around race and gender pay gaps in youth work.
We would ask you to reconsider your decision to recommend that your members vote for industrial action in order that the Youth and Community workforce can receive a pay award and that we can reach a settlement for this year.
Yours sincerely
David Algie
