Joint circular No 141 – PSC pay spine
Dear colleague
The Police Staff Council has agreed to the deletion of pay point 8 (£23,286) on the PSC Pay Spine with effect from 1 April 2025. This is to reflect that the increase in the National Living Wage, which will take effect on 1 April 2025, will result in a rate of £12.21 per hour which will equate to £23,555 and which would be above pay point 8 on the PSC pay spine.
We are aware that some police forces may number this pay point differently, but the collective agreement is to delete this pay point whatever its local numbering and to move any staff currently on this pay point to the new lowest pay point of the PSC pay spine which will be pay point 9 - £23,748 or locally numbered equivalent.
If you require any clarification or information on this change to the PSC Pay Spine, please refer to the contact details above.
Yours sincerely
Ben Priestley, Trade Union Side Secretary
David Algie, Employers’ Side Secretariat
