We are inviting councillors to join us for a two-part series of online masterclasses to explore their role as local leaders in supporting their council’s digital transformation and placemaking journeys.

The masterclasses will be split into two parts: Becoming a digital council and Building a digital place, consisting of six masterclasses each. For further information and to book onto both parts visit the links below.

Becoming a digital council

As councils increasingly seek to digitise services amidst a climate of stretched budgets and limited capacity, it is crucial for political leaders to grasp what it means to be a modern digital council to accelerate real, long-term change and transformation. We are delivering six modules covering the following topics to empower councillors in championing their councils’ digital transformation journeys:

1 Leadership Monday 19 February 10:00-11:30
2 Security and resilience Thursday 22 February 10:00-11:30
3 Data  Friday 23 February 10:00-11:30
4 Services Wednesday 28 February 10:00-11:30
5 Organisational capability Thursday 29 February 10:00-11:30
6 Value Friday 1 March 10:00-11:30

Building a digital place

Data and digital technology provide councils with new opportunities to engage with communities and enhance placed-based growth. We are hosting six masterclasses to equip councillors with an understanding of the principles of digital placemaking and how it can boost the social, cultural, environmental and economic value of a place to foster a deeper relationship between people and the places where they live.

1 Connectivity Wednesday 6 March 14:00 – 15:30
2 Democracy and participation  Thursday 7 March 14:00 – 15:30
3 Economic growth and productivity Friday 8 March 14:00 – 15:30
