What is transformation?
Transformation within local government is about radically changing the ways that services operate and are delivered to achieve greater outcomes for local residents and communities, while delivering value for money.
Transformation takes place for many different reasons, including:
- to help councils achieve outcomes that are not achievable by staying ‘as is’
- to ensure sustainability and viability of services and / or places for the future
- to support necessary revenue savings
- to respond to factors external to the council, such as political, environmental, societal, technological, economic or legal changes.
Types of transformation
