NJC employers self-led review survey

  1. As you may know, the Employer side of the National Joint Council for Local Authority Fire and Rescue Services (NJC) has committed to undertake a self-led review. The terms of reference can be found on the LGA website White paper response: Employers side self-led review 2024 | Local Government Association.
  2. The National Employers are being assisted in this process by Stephanie Marston who is experienced both in collective bargaining and in academia and is currently a member of the NHS pay review body, and the Central Arbitrations Committee (CAC). She is therefore well placed to understand the issues and context in which the NJC operates and can support the National Employers in developing this dialogue across the sector.
  3. To help inform our review, we are seeking your evidence and experience of the National Joint Council via online survey. Your answers will be kept in complete confidence and no identifiable information will be published in the final report.
  4. We are asking individuals to fill out the survey, so we will accept (and unusually we encourage) multiple submissions per FRS – but specifically those who’s world of work is directly relevant to or engages with the NJC and/or the Grey Book. Therefore, we would particularly welcome submissions from:
    * chief fire officers/deputy/assistant chief fire officers
    * HR director/senior HR managers
    * fire authority chairs/PFCCs

  6. The deadline for responses is Monday 8 July, 10.00am.
