Response to the Government consultation on the future delivery of support to victims and their children in accommodation-based domestic abuse services in England, July 2019

Councils recognise they have an important role to play in tackling domestic abuse, alongside partners in health, education, housing, the police and wider services.

The Government’s announcement that funding will be provided to place vital accommodation-based domestic abuse services on a long-term, sustainable footing is therefore a positive step. However we are concerned the proposals may impact on the delivery of a holistic approach to domestic abuse, and therefore on the broader support to victims and work to reduce incidents of this crime in the future.
