This LGA briefing contains information on adult social care funding and Delayed Transfers of Care (DTOCs).

A diverse range of bus services operate outside England’s major cities, from inter-urban connectors through small networks around towns to relatively long-distance services often providing the only transport link to small communities other than a private car.

On 27 February 2018 council funding was discussed at Treasury Questions. The amount of money local authorities’ hold in their reserves was debated as part of this session. This briefing sets out the LGA’s key messages on the subject and our analysis which is based on the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government data.

We welcomed the findings of the Mendoza Review, but we are concerned that it identified local authority-run and supported museums as most vulnerable to funding pressures.

The LGA welcomed the creation of Highways England and the Road Improvement Strategy (RIS). Long term funding certainty and sustained investment are welcome developments for the strategic network.

The final settlement includes an additional £190 million for local government, when compared to the indicative 2018/19 settlement announced this time last year.
