The 2022 Local Government Workforce Survey provides information on key elements of the workforce within local authorities in England. The figures provided by councils include school support staff, but exclude teachers. The survey is conducted regularly by the LGA Research and Information Team. All data in this report refers to the financial year 2021/22 unless otherwise stated.
