The LGA is a politically-led, cross-party organisation, working on behalf of councils to ensure local government has a strong, credible voice.
Throughout this five-year Parliament, the LGA has sought opportunities to highlight important issues to local government, influence legislation and promote the important work of councils in delivering the local services that their residents value.
The LGA seeks to influence the national political debate by working closely with our Vice-Presidents and network of parliamentary supporters, lobbying for positive changes to legislation, briefing for debates and parliamentary questions, submitting evidence to parliamentary inquiries and organising events which bring together parliamentarians, LGA Vice-Presidents and councillors.
