This report was commissioned to develop the evidence base to further support our six-point action plan for housing, specifically the point to roll-out five-year local housing deals to all areas of the country that want them by 2025 – combining funding from multiple national housing programmes into a single pot.

The Local Government Association and St Basils led a sub-group of the Rough Sleeping Advisory Panel on Monday 7 August 2023. The sub-group ran for 90 minutes to scrutinise and assess the progress made against the commitments made in the cross-government ‘Ending Rough Sleeping for Good’ strategy and highlight future and wider delivery challenges.

The LGA’s Research and Information Team circulated an online survey to Directors of Housing at English local authorities which own housing stock. The purpose of the survey was to assess the potential impact of the introduction of new standards being introduced for the professionalisation of the housing sector.
