The Standards for employers of public health teams in England set out expectations of good employers who want to enable all their public health staff to work effectively. The Standards were published in 2018 after a wide consultation across the public health system in England and are owned and maintained by the Local Government Association (LGA). This project aimed to evaluate their impact, one year on.
This survey provides information on key elements of the workforce within local authorities in England. The figures provided by councils include school support staff, but exclude teachers.

The survey was sent to police forces in England and Wales in order to inform on-going national negotiations by providing accurate and up to date information about the composition of the workforce and provide a means for costing claims, offers and their consequences.
