Community action

The LGA is working to support councils to better engage their communities in the design and delivery of services - something we are calling community action.

LG Inform (data benchmarking)

LG Inform brings together a range of key performance contextual and financial data for authorities, in an online tool.

What does 'good' look like?

There is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to internal communications, but there are things that make success more likely.

LGA Independent Group

The LGA Independent Group represents councillors in England and Wales who are Independent, Plaid Cymru or from smaller parties. We provide our members with a voice at the national level and work within the cross-party Local Government Association (LGA) to ensure that the values and interests of our members are represented. We work within the LGA to shape its policy work as well as parliamentary briefings and press work. We also work with the LGA to advise on and provide improvement support, mentoring, training, and events with our network of member peers.

LGA Labour

The LGA Labour Group exists to provide a strong voice for Labour in local government. We represent and support Labour Groups in England and Wales and the Labour councillors within them.

LGA Conservatives

The LGA Conservative Group is the national voice for Conservative Local Government. We are here to support both Conservative council groups and Conservative councillors. Conservatives are leading the way in local government, embracing the new localist agenda, protecting frontline services and offering value for money.
