Alastair Campbell to join LGA as Interim Communications Director
Alastair Campbell, currently Interim Director of Communications and Engagement at Southwark Council, has been appointed as Interim Director of Communications and will join the LGA from 2 September for six months.
Alastair Campbell, currently Interim Director of Communications and Engagement at Southwark Council, has been appointed as Interim Director of Communications and will join the LGA from 2 September for six months.
Alastair has considerable experience working in highly sensitive and demanding environments, including 10 Downing Street, New Scotland Yard, Cabinet Office, GCHQ and local government.
Most recently he has held Interim roles at Southwark Council and before that as Interim Head of Communications and Public Affairs at Hounslow Council.
His previous roles include as Deputy Director and Head of Corporate and Strategic Communications at the National Cyber Security Centre and as Deputy Director, Strategic Communications and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Cabinet Office Covid Communications Hub.
Nicky Old is leaving the LGA to join the Publishers Association as its Director of Communications at the end of this month.
