This is a ten-week development programme designed to empower councils with the tools, insights, and strategies needed to modernise their recruitment practices.
- Deadline for applications: Monday 16 December 2024
- Cohort 2: Starts Wednesday 8 January 2025
Programme objectives
The Recruitment Reset is a ten-week development programme designed to empower councils with the tools, insights, and strategies needed to modernise their recruitment practices. By focusing on efficiency, effectiveness, and fairness, the programme aims to create a recruitment process that is not only inclusive but also sustainable, leading to a stronger and more resilient workforce.
Programme overview
This ten-week online programme is designed to guide participants through five essential steps to reset and enhance recruitment practices, using the LGA Recruitment Maturity Model as a standard framework. It also aims to build confidence and capability, with sessions focused on mindset and driving change.
As a member of a cohort limited to 12 places, participants will be encouraged to reflect on their current practices, make improvements, and apply their learning to address their most pressing recruitment challenges.
The programme offers a full set of quality materials and resources, and includes one online session per week, thoughtfully designed to accommodate diverse learning styles. The schedule ensures that participants have ample time to complete each step while maintaining momentum throughout the course. The sessions are a blend of the following formats:
- Masterclass: These focus on the five key steps, providing the knowledge and skills needed to successfully implement them.
- Mastermind: These sessions delve into the mindset needed to overcome obstacles and explore what often hinders progress.
- Working together: These collaborative sessions address emerging challenges, identify opportunities for change, and offer mutual support within the group.
Each session is facilitated by a skilled and knowledgeable programme lead and crafted to help participants not only learn but also apply practical solutions to the unique challenges they face in their role.
Who is the programme for?
The Recruitment Reset programme is designed specifically for leaders looking to review their recruitment practice at both a strategic and operational level. We ask that people apply for a place for two reasons; spaces are very limited, and we want to make sure that the programme is the right intervention. The application process has a handy checklist of what needs to be in place to be eligible to apply for a place, and we will check the details on each application form to make sure that each participant is suitable and will benefit from their investment in the programme.
Time commitment
To take part in the programme, six to eight hours per week will need to be allocated to attend online sessions and complete the work required in between sessions. Online sessions take place every Wednesday from 1.00pm – 4.00pm throughout the programme. There is more flexibility for any individual work that you need to do between sessions as you’ll schedule this additional time in yourself. Successful councils will need to commit to attending each practitioner led session and completing tasks in between sessions to ensure your council gets the most from the programme.
Costs
The cost to each council to be part of the Recruitment Reset programme is £1,950.00 excluding VAT.
