The LGA’s General Assembly, the 'parliament of Local Government', meets once a year, and is the only LGA decision making forum which all authorities in full membership are eligible to attend and to vote.
LGA General Assembly
The next meeting of the LGA's General Assembly will be held at 11.45 am on Tuesday 2 July 2024.
However, in view of the General Election on 4 July, the General Assembly will be held as a virtual meeting.
Agenda
The agenda for the meeting will be available two weeks before the meeting. Previous agenda papers and minutes of previous meetings of the General Assembly are available to view.
Nominations and voting
All Member Authorities will now have been invited to appoint their representatives to the General Assembly for 2024/25. The deadline for receipt of your nomination form is Friday 7 June 2024. please complete the nomination form.
Please ensure that all details requested are submitted via the online form as members will not be able to vote without receipt of this information.
Appointments will take effect from the Annual Meeting on 2 July 2024 and shall end immediately before the Annual Meeting the following year.

Submitting motions
The closing date for the submission of motions is now passed. Motions received will be considered by the LGA Board who will decide whether they will be debated at General Assembly of referred to an alternative LGA forum for debate and discussion. Authorities who have submitted motions will be notified after the LGA Board meeting on 7 June 2024.
