The LGA will be focusing its lobbying work on those bills which are priorities to local government.
This includes working with parliamentarians on the following legislation:
- Mental Capacity (Amendment) Bill
- Tenant Fees Bill
- Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Bill.
- Rating (Property in Common Occupation) and Council Tax (Empty Dwellings) Bill.
On June 21 2017, The Queen set out the Government’s agenda for a two year Parliamentary session. The LGA produced an ‘on the day briefing' which details the new Bills announced that the Government intends to bring forward and which will be of relevance to local government.
