To increase the efficiency of its mobile neighbourhood based staff, Bristol City Council built an online reporting system (Looking Local's MyCouncil) and provided officers with tablets pre-loaded with the software, to enable them to complete their daily tasks without having to visit an office. This reduced accommodation costs.

The council also reduced their costs by switching from more expensive methods of reporting, such as using the telephone or face-to-face meetings, to online reporting.
