Worcestershire County Council declared a climate emergency in July 2021. Under the council’s Sustainability Policy, the council has committed to not only reducing their own operational carbon footprint but also to support businesses and other Worcestershire organisations to improve their environmental performance too.
West and East Midlands ADASS with Herefordshire County Council, Lincolnshire County Council Nottinghamshire County Council and Walsall Metropolitan Borough Councils and supported living providers in the council areas developed a pilot project to work with supported living providers and partners in the NHS to help social care staff to identify the signs that someone with a learning disability is deteriorating and work with NHS staff to get the person the care they need in this situation.

In 2019, Hampshire County Council formed a commission of inquiry to identify the major drivers of change in Hampshire to 2050. The commission found that climate change was one of the biggest drivers, and a climate emergency was declared.
