Our rivers.

Our roads.

Our green spaces.

Our homes.

Our future

Climate change is affecting all aspects of our lives, and the world we live in.

Councils in their role as local place shapers have a unique and vital role to play.

Only councils can turn national  ambitions into joint action on the ground, in the places people live, and where businesses thrive.

Councils have powers or influence over a third of all greenhouse gas emissions in their area.

To date more than 300 local authorities have declared a climate emergency.

Whether it's a zero emission zone in Oxford, or a flood alleviation scheme in Leeds,

a community-led biodiversity project in Kingston or a solar farm in Swindon.

Councils are taking action to adapt and mitigate the effects of climate change.

Councils want to work as partners with the Government, businesses and communities to tackle and adapt to climate change and deliver the uk's net zero target by 2050 or sooner.

Local councils are ready to play their part...

With you.
