The community councillor

This introductory course provides councillors with an opportunity to learn about their role in creating strong digital and inclusive cultures for the benefit of all residents, whilst managing security-based risks. It is also useful for councillors who are new to digitalisation and have a responsibility or an interest in shaping their council’s digitalisation programme.

This course looks at political leadership of place within a health context. Intended for Health and Wellbeing Board chair/co-chair/vice-chairs, elected members on a Health and Wellbeing board, portfolio holders or those with executive responsibility for public health, health, or wellbeing.

The programme supports elected members to develop in their role in leading the design of a local sport, physical activity and movement offer that improves activity levels and the health and wellbeing of local communities.

This programme will give councillors the confidence, capability, and awareness to shape and lead the transformation agenda within their local authorities and local areas. It is also introduces newly elected councillors to the concept of transformation, giving them the skills to become the next generation of transformational leaders.
