Geographic information

Geographic information is a powerful but underused tool to support the evidence for effective strategy.

Used in conjunction with local knowledge and good quality data, it is a key aid to understanding the geographies of place, communities, economies and environments that are crucial if public policy interventions are to respond to the needs of citizens and the circumstances of their lives.

The LGA is working closely with a range of agencies to explore the challenges ahead and to ensure that local authorities receive the support they need. View this section for the latest work in this area.
