Strategic briefings will provide the context, opportunities and wider benefits to lead a local pathway to sustainability. Briefing topics include housing retrofit and decarbonising transport.
Building on the learning from the Sustainability masterclasses, and from our past Sustainability in Council Services Project, the LGA will be producing strategic briefings on a number of different sustainability topics. The first of these briefings will cover the topics of decarbonising transport, the natural environment, the green economy and community energy.
These briefings reflect key messages and case studies from the masterclasses, plus additional material. The LGA hopes this project will help local leaders to make sustainable interventions and decisions around these topics and we hope to build on them for further topics in the future.
Please note that the sustainability strategic briefings were produced before the new government. To ensure the LGA’s priorities reflect the Government’s missions and other critical issues for our members, we are reviewing our approach and offer to working with the new Government, and policies may change.
