Joint circular no. 133 - Proposal for police staff long service and good conduct medal
Dear Colleague
The Police Staff Council supports the proposal to extend eligibility for the police long service and good conduct medal to all police staff.
This proposal is not meant to replace awards which forces already have in place to acknowledge long service by police staff, e.g., certificates etc.
In response to the proposal, the Home Office, which funds the equivalent police officer award, has asked us to obtain the following information from forces in England and Wales:
- number of police staff with 20+ years’ service
- number of police staff with 30+ years’ service
- number of police staff with 40+ years’ service.
We would be grateful if you could provide this data to [email protected] by no later than 15 September 2023.
