Resetting the relationship between local and national government. Read our Local Government White Paper
Following commitments in the Government's Tackling Child Sexual Exploitation report, four new and revised pieces of DfE child protection advice and guidance were published in March 2015.
These documents are all available online, and include:
- Information sharing: advice for practitioners providing safeguarding services to children, young people, parents and carers (new)
- What to do if you're worried a child is being abused: advice for practitioners (new)
- Keeping children safe in Education guidance (revised)
- Working together to safeguard children: statutory guidance (revised)
These documents aim to help all those working with children to identify abuse and neglect and know what action to take in response, inform them how to share information effectively to protect children, and understand the core legal requirements around promoting children's welfare and keeping them safe. At the same time, the documents support practitioners to exercise their expertise and judgement on how best to protect children and young people, and promote their welfare.
