The visitor economy sector continues to play a key role in the economy of the borough. Whilst Scarborough still has many structural challenges to face, it equally has a lot to offer the visitor including 45 miles of heritage coastline, the North York Moors National Park, the resorts of Filey, Whitby and Scarborough, year-round events and festivals, which celebrate the essence of the Yorkshire Coast, and a developing food and drink offer.

Redbridge Council faced an increasing demand for temporary housing. People evicted from the private rented sector were spending longer and longer homeless in B&B accommodation. Find out how the team reduced the number of families living in high-cost B&Bs to zero in just eight months.

Merton is part of South West London Health and Care Partnership, which has a commitment to delegate to borough level to ensure local accountability and delivery based on consistency, not uniformity. The partnership published draft health and care plans in March 2019.

A specialist nursing service for rough sleepers works closely with Bolton Council and local voluntary sector services. It provides support on the streets as well as into hostels and from its town centre base.

Social enterprise Bevan Healthcare provides outreach heath support to rough sleepers from a mobile unit. Together, with its primary care centre and work with hospitals, it is providing vital help to vulnerable people.
