Our Deane Helpline is a service which has been providing a lifeline and response package to people for over 30 years, along with associated monitoring of Lifeline alarms across the South West. Its purpose is to support people to live as independently as possible within their own homes and to prolong their quality of life.

Through the LGA Productivity Experts Programme, expert advice was sought around the methodology and development of approaches, processes and skills for contract audit of contracts, recovery of overpayments, contract management and financial procedures to test for potential savings.

The Greater Manchester Regulatory Centre of Excellence has created a unique partnership offering regulatory support and advice to businesses, mainly through the provision of primary authority partnerships. However, the partnership had always wanted to offer more for businesses both to ensure greater compliance and generate additional income for the local authorities and fire service. Timesage is a commercial brand for Melton Borough Council. The initial aim was to develop a pilot with a view to providing chargeable services to local people using a monthly subscription payment model. The pilot period was used to extend our lifeline services to support more independent living but we also have plans moving forward for leisure activity packages. Carlisle City Council recruited a productivity expert with experience in the museum, heritage and cultural sector, to advise on the financial resilience of the Tullie House Museum; reduce its dependence on direct grant funding from Carlisle City Council; and identify a sustainable future funding level which reflected the operating demands of the museum and the council’s ongoing budget pressures.
