The Surrey Interfaith Forum (SIF) is an important partnership bringing together faith leaders across the county to harness and build on the work that was carried out with partners during the pandemic, supporting the communities of Surrey.

Although the existing Surrey survey data was a useful tool, the arguments benefited from being broadened out to encompass evidence and examples from beyond Surrey to demonstrate to new partners the economic benefits of employing hidden talent and that this is not just a local agenda but part of a larger set of issues being recognised and championed globally by both small and large employers.

In East Surrey, adult social care and the CCG are working together to pilot the use of discharge to assess for all continuing healthcare (CHC) assessments. This example of a local initiative forms part of our managing transfers of care resource.

A partnership between Surrey County Council and Woking Borough Council’s Women’s Support Centre is ensuring women who are involved in or at risk of becoming involved in the criminal justice system get the support they need for drug and alcohol problems.  

Managing transfers of care: an example of how a local area is working to implement system change. Between January and October 2012, Surrey County Council worked closely with health partners to introduce reliable seven days per week social care services, including earlier weekday mornings and later evenings. The River Bourne Club is a private members’ health club with a fully-equipped gym and swimming pool. The club has been used by both Surrey County Council and the local NHS to run health clinics.

As soon as COVID-19 hit, a pan-Sussex enforcement cell was set up which included the police, Brighton and Hove City Council, the two county councils and the network of district and borough councils.

Retrofit is a key part of the decarbonisation agenda, and there has been a push by Devon County Council to increase uptake for the ‘able to pay’ market as well as to best use and target grant funding for households who are ‘unable to pay’ for such home upgrades.

Warwickshire County Council wanted to raise awareness of climate change and biodiversity in the county. To reach a wider audience, highlight the subjects that fall under the sustainability umbrella, showcase the action being taken by people across the county and to encourage individuals to get involved, they launched the Sustainable Warwickshire podcast.
