FEAST invests in community and artist-led projects and events that break new ground. Its specific purpose is to generate arts and cultural activity in towns, villages and parishes across Cornwall in a way that is highly visible to the public.

The FAST programme is funded by, and working in partnership with, Sport England. It was launched in 2018 and initially based in the targeted wards of Bicester and Kidlington with the aim to make it easier for families to access and enjoy physical activity and sport together.

The case study describes Museums Northumberland bait’s use of the Warwick and Edinburgh Mental Wellbeing Scale (WEMWBS) to build quantitative evidence of the positive impact on wellbeing of taking part in arts and culture.

Everyday Active is a campaign created and developed by Active Kent & Medway, the Active Partnership for Kent and Medway, which is one of 43 Active Partnerships in England and hosted by Kent County Council.

Essex Record Office wanted to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the 1953 Essex flood, a disaster which claimed 120 lives. They worked collaboratively with community groups, the Environment Agency and National Coastwatch to create public events which were attended by 1700 participants.

An example of how a large- scale community dance project achieved transformational social and cultural outcomes and won national awards for its contribution to community cohesion.

Eastleigh In-house sports and physical activity development Eastleigh Borough Council’s sport and active lifestyles team works with its two outsourced leisure providers, and other partners, to help people lead healthier lives. Local priorities include getting women and girls more active and addressing a dropoff in participation as young people approach their teenage years.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council provides its sport, play and arts service and its leisure service inhouse. Other models have been considered and trialled in the past, such as outsourcing, but the services demonstrate high levels of success under the in-house mechanism.

East Riding Archives’ Blockdown project harnessed the possibilities of the videogame Minecraft as an interactive learning environment and as a tool to collect young peoples’ experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic in the region.

In 2015 the Council produced a Leisure Strategy to inform the forthcoming procurement of its three leisure facilities.
