Autistic People and People with a Learning Disability team

We are one of the teams in Partners in Care and Health and we work with key national organisations to support councils to improve support for autistic people and people with a learning disability.

Our Sector-Led Improvement Offer 2022-2025 for autistic people and people with a learning disability is funded by NHS England and the Department of Health and Social Care. The offer includes:

  • fully subsidised peer reviews for councils and systems
  • fully subsidised intensive bespoke support offer for councils or systems post peer review
  • a Building the Right Support Community of Practice
  • subsidised places on the Small Supports programme helping councils and their partners develop the personalised support market for people with a learning disability and autistic people
  • support with policy and statutory changes relating to autistic people and people with a learning disability and
  • a universal offer of case studies, webinars and briefings for councils and systems on topics like preparation for adulthood, housing, employment.

Peer reviews, intensive support and the small support programme are available to NHS and wider system partners as well as councils.
