Survey closes 20 January 2023 (12am)
Frequently asked questions
No, there is only one unique link for your council or organisation.
You can share the same link with all those participating, i.e., adults and children's social workers together.
This year there is no separate organisational survey for principal social workers to complete.
10-15 minutes.
The survey is for social workers, occupational therapists, and social care practitioners.
Yes. The survey will ask each respondent to indicate their role type and a distinction will be made in the reports between the different experiences of staff in these varying roles.
Please note, as it is our priority as researchers to protect the anonymity of individuals, we will only be able to report on a particular category (e.g., occupational therapists) if we receive a minimum of ten responses.
You can close the survey before 20 January by notifying us one week in advance of your planned closing date at [email protected]. Once closed, our research team will begin producing your individual report, with key findings and drivers unique to your council/organisation. In order to produce a more complete report we recommend that you close the survey at the same time across all the services that your council/organisation are surveying (eg adult social workers, children’s social workers, occupational therapists, qualified non-registered practitioners etc...).
Yes, to help you to maximise engagement, our team can provide regular updates on the number of responses received. Please email [email protected] your number of participating social workers, occupational therapists, and other social care practitioners to receive updates.
We will prioritise the individual reports in the order organisations complete the survey in, and then focus on producing the regional and national reports.
Our primary responsibility as researchers is to protect individual anonymity. We would be able to provide the raw data, but to prevent the possibility of an individual being identified through this data, we may need to redact certain information.
As a non-member authority or NHS trust (unless in partnership with your local authority), your organisation’s participation this year would attract a small fee, as sadly the LGA funding can only be extended to member authorities. Under this scenario, you could choose to retain the standard survey offered, or use the opportunity to commission a bespoke survey, to apply new elements such as additional questions and local branding. If you would be interested in this opportunity, please do not hesitate to contact [email protected] for further information and appropriate pricing.
If you wish, you can adapt this accompanying text into any communications when distributing the survey amongst colleagues.
“Each year, the LGA carries out an Employer Standards Health Check. The purpose of the health check is to better understand the experiences of social workers, occupational therapists, and other social care professionals. It is designed to find out what they think about their working environment, what factors influence them to remain engaged with their work and to stay with their organisations, and how well employers are delivering the standards. The survey takes just 10-15 minutes of your time to complete. Please do fill yours in and make sure you have your say. Simply click the link: (your unique link ID here) to complete the survey”
