The Winterbourne View Joint Improvement Programme (JIP) and the Care Provider Alliance (CPA) have produced some guides for providers about the Mental Capacity Act. Alongisde these they have published this easy read guide about the Mental Capacity Act.

This improvement tool has been has been developed throughout 2014/15 with funding from the Department of Health and support from the Local Government Association (LGA) and the Association of Directors of Social Services (ADASS).

In June 2023, the Local Government Association (LGA) conducted a survey to capture data on the LGA Model Councillor Code of Conduct (the “Model code") to gauge the impact of the Model code in councils.
