Developed in consultation with the sector, the Core Code is designed to help employees of the Fire and Rescue Service (FRS) act in the best way towards each other and while serving the public. It will sit alongside the Code of Ethics Fire Standard developed by the Fire Standards Board.

A new report for fire and rescue services to help them respond to the climate emergency at a local level has been published by the Local Government Association today.

Unveiled this morning at the LGA’s Fire Conference in Gateshead, the LGA’s Fire Vision 2024 calls for 30 per cent of new recruits to be women by the middle of the next decade. Currently only 5 per cent of firefighters are women.

"This fund is good news to help address the ongoing costs to leaseholders of waking watches and reflects what the LGA has long-called for."
