A comprehensive efficiency review of waste services in North Lincolnshire.

Digital technology can provide huge advantages to businesses in town centres and other places if take-up and future opportunities can be properly understood. The Digital High Street Project aims to help place managers understand and improve the ways that local consumer-facing business are adopting digital technologies. 

Havering Council has developed an online portal to support two-way information sharing between providers and the council.

Rother District Council (RDC) wished to increase the take-up of payment by annual direct debit for the garden waste collection in order to reduce processing and chasing costs. This was specifically to reduce the number of cheques being received, as is the most costly method of payment for the council. This case study forms part of our productivity experts resource.

In July 2017 the London Borough of Islington was hit by a Distributed Denial of Service (DDos) cyber-attack targeted at the council’s online portal for citizens called ‘My e-account’, a part of the website which allows residents to manage their services and payments through a personal online account.

This project was undertaken on behalf of a partnership of local authorities led by Teignbridge District Council and including the other Greater Exeter Strategic Partnership authorities.

Purbeck participated in the Housing Adviser’s Programme (HAP) in order to source additional private rented accommodation to prevent households becoming homelessness.

The council welcomes and supports a vibrant student community within the district, but is also keen to see adequate housing provision for younger single people and couples who may not be students but still need housing.
