This report presents the findings from research into the peer support and review elements of the Towards Excellence in Adult Social Care (TEASC) programme, undertaken by Shared Intelligence (Si) and commissioned by the Local Government Association (LGA) and the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS).

This joint Local Government Association (LGA) and Association of Directors of Social Services (ADASS) research project was carried out between July and November 2014.

The purpose of the survey was to help inform LGA understanding of how councils are promoting active travel and to identify key funding challenges and policy barriers that prevent them from doing more.

Fire and rescue authorities (FRAs) have a key role to play in ensuring that their communities are safe through responding to emergencies and also through their extensive preventative work.

In March 2015 the LGA wrote to local authorities (LAs) inviting them to complete an online self-assessment about their plans to prepare for the transfer of commissioning responsibilities for 0-5 year olds from NHS England to local government on 1 October 2015.

The LGA is a politically-led, cross-party organisation, working on behalf of councils to ensure local government has a strong, credible voice.

The LGA, NHS England and the Care Provider Alliance have published a guide to the Mental Capacity Act. This is aimed at supporting care providers providing community services.
