When relationship issues develop at work – especially involving senior people in the organisation, a trusted independent adviser is likely to be the best solution to resolve the situation.

The LGA is able to provide support to councils when dealing with complex employee relations casework. We have a team of experienced practitioners who are able to undertake investigations or help resolve problems using less formal approaches such as mediation.

The LGA holds the Joint National Committee for Chief Executives of Local Authorities approved list of independent investigators so should be the first point of contact for any council dealing with a complaint relating to their chief executive or a statutory chief officer.
